Floralscape 4: Purple and Mauve Irises was inspired by a display of bearded irises at my local botanic garden. Oils on poly-cotton canvas, 36” x 42” x 1.5”, painted around the sides, it is ready to hang. With movement, flow, and vibrance, this artwork of bearded irises still evokes tranquility through its soft colours. I call this style ‘painterly botanicals’ because the brushstrokes and paint texture are apparent when the painting is viewed in person.
